The Double Diamond Chest Harness
This cute, suspension-worthy, arms-out chest harness emphasizes self-tieability but also works well for paired rope practice. It is ideal for experimenting with tension, structure, and creating your perfect rope hug, leveling up your skills while looking great. I will go through the logic of the choices made in the harness and suggest modifications/areas for improvisation so that students can mold the harness to their needs and skill level. Bring 2-3 hanks of rope and be comfortable with tying (tops) or checking safety of (bottoms) a 1) non-collapsing single column tie and 2) half hitch. Bottoms should be comfortable with rope on their ribs or waist and be able to communicate body sensations. Self-tiers should meet both rigger and bottom criteria, as well as be able to briefly touch the back of their waist with a hand.
