Creating contrast, creating surprise.

This class is a collaborative environment focused on expanding our horizons in rope. We'll focus on timing. Working in elements of musicality as well as exercises adopted from theater work, we'll talk about giving enough space, when to pause, as well as when to speed up, moments when we can use surprise, and more. All of us, regardless of experience level,have certain patterns, styles, energies, vibes, emotions, speeds, etc that we usually use when tying. By purposefully working on tying in ways that are unusual for us, we expand our toolboxes and the variety of scenes available to us. We also expand our ability to work with the element of surprise, which can be a powerful and exciting technique for scene-building. In the class we work in groups on several exercises to expand our view of what rope can be. This is an all-levels partnered tying class.

Prerequisites: this is an all levels class. Total beginners can take this class. It is aimed at intermediate students. Advanced students can also benefit.
