Presenters Bios

Dossie Easton, a long time player on the San Francisco S/M scene and well-known killer bottom, is co-author with Janet Hardy of The New Bottoming Book and The New Topping Book, When Someone You Love Is Kinky, Radical Ecstasy: SM Journeys to Transcendence and, most recently, a revised and expanded second edition of The Ethical Slut: A Practical Guide to Polyamory, Open Relationships and Other Adventures. Dossie is a licensed psychotherapist working with individuals, couples and more in her private practice, with a particular interest in how SM journeys into Shadow can bring old wounds into the healing light of consciousness and and give them a shot of life force in the form of good hot sex.

An active sex radical since 1961, Dossie was a member of the first Board of Directors of the Society of Janus in San Francisco in 1974. In the eighties under the name of Hidebound Leatherware, she had a business crafting whips and restraints. Currently she makes her home in the mountains north of San Francisco, travels around to teach at conferences all over the world, and spends her nonexistent free time hiking the hills declaiming filthy poetry to the vultures and hosting outrageous pajama parties. Branded for having sex on the edge, FifthAngel at times embodies sexual sadism in its purest form - a sexual sadist inflicts pain for his or her own pleasure, not the bottom's. FifthAngel has written two books, "The Finer Points of Pain and Pleasure," a how-to guide for using pressure points in BDSM scenes, and "Your Pain, My Pleasure: Inside the Mind of a Sexual Sadist" and multiple magazine articles. After spending most of his non-working weekends traveling throughout North America teaching at BDSM events for the last seven years, FifthAngel as entered semi-retirement with his teaching. While he does still teach, he limits his teaching to selected events a few times a year. An "edge player" in all aspects of his life, he enjoys vertical rock and ice climbing as well as high altitude mountaineering. When not dangling by a rope off the side of a mountain or riding his motorcycle through the canyons of the Rockies, FifthAngel resides in Denver, Colorado, where he enjoys a monogamous (yes, he feels he needs to say that) yet sadistic marriage with his wife Katie.

Jim is an emotionally sadistic, fun-loving dominant who brings his sense of adventure and creativity into his scenes. He is a career military man who enjoys using the protocol and structure that he learned in the service in perverse ways at home. He's been teaching classes in the BDSM community for approximately 8 years, and has also been a volunteer instructor in ACLS and CPR classes within his local area. He loves emotional scenes, choking people, and scaring the shit out of his girl.

Jerith is a strong willed slave with a passion for scenes that challenge her and an even bigger penchant for mischief. She lives to find ways to make Jim's hair go prematurely gray, especially during play time. She loves to choke and gasp for air, and can often be found with a rope around her neck and one hand down her pants. She volunteers as the Education Director of Galleria Domain 2, and has served on various boards of TNG oriented organizations.

As a couple, Jim and Jerith find it important to give back to a community that has had such a large, important impact on their lives. Together, they are the founders of a former Master/slave discussion group in Virginia, although they can currently be found most weekend at one of the local Chicago play spaces. They've presented classes in Canada, up and down the Eastern Seaboard, and across the Midwest. They teach classes in Breath Play, Fear Play, Mind Fucks, Emotional Masochism, and a host of various edge play topics.

Janice Stine is many things to many people: Ms. J, Mistress Mary Poppins, A toaster, a chew toy… The list goes on. If you try to put her in a box, she’ll deconstruct it, color it with glitter pens, and turn it into something unexpected. Kink just happens to be an outlet where her creativity and love of the absurd can be channeled. For Janice, the conventions of the scene are not hard and fast rules, but rather tools that she can mold and use to create something that is all her own. She identifies less as an educator and more as an avid learner, who will happily share whatever skills and lessons she acquires on her journey, so that others may carve out their own path. Klawdya Rothschild is an independent curator, artist, Alt Sex and Spirituality educator, Kink Rights Advocate, and Occultist. Klawdya’s academic background is in Social and Evolutionary Psychology, Fiber Arts, and Curating. In 2008 she was elected to the Board of Directors of the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom(NCSF) and she has participated in the BDSM/Fetish and Occulture Communities for over a decade. She has worked as a Dominatrix, model, performer, Rope Bondage Rigger, Spiritual Healer, Temple Whore and always a mixed-media artist. As artistic director of the Property Project, she created the Synchronetic Tarot, documenting sex, magick and fetish in ecstatic rituals. Her occult interests include Voudon, Gnosticism, Goetic Evokation, service to/as the Whore Babylon, Hermetic and Ritual Magick, and has an active research interest in mystical syncretism. In the BDSM and Fetish Community she is best known for Japanese-influenced Rope Bondage, especially her Self Bondage Manifesto, and for CDTV Transformation. She is the founder of the Baltimore Erotic Arts Festival, and a recipient of the Annie Sprinkle Aphrodite Award.

International Ms Bootblack 2009, Pony, is one of two bootblacks in residence at the Leather Rose in Chicago. She was named Kentucky Bootblack in 2006 and was the runner up at the GLLA 2006 Bootblack contest. Pony has a Masters of Divinity degree from an accredited theological seminary and is an ordained Minister in a mainline Christian denomination. She has taught classes in Bootblacking and/or ponyplay at Leather Retreat, Anything for Love, LRA Chicago, KUFS, KISS, and the Fort Wayne Munch. Rae Goldman is an adventurous Leather switch who has been fortunate to have the chance to learn from (and play with) a variety of amazing mentors around the states and abroad. A queer, genderqueer, masochist/sadist and proud slut, Rae enjoys exploring the edges and margins of the world. Rae is proud to have presented at International Ms Leather, the Leather Leadership Conference, BR, TES Fest, TNG-4, the Independent Company Australia, and CampOUT, as well as other conferences and local groups. She has spoken to vanilla audiences about SM and gender at academic and queer conferences and college classes. She co-curated two exhibits on the history of the Folsom Street Fair, is a member of the Folsom Board, and serves as the volunteer coordinator for International Ms Leather.

Sarah Sloane is a queer polyamorous sadomasochist from the Washington DC metro area. She is a BDSM / Polyamory / Sexuality educator who has been presenting for organizations and events throughout the US, Canada, and overseas for 9 years; she also works with individuals to learn skills and techniques to enhance their lives. Sarah has taught literally hundreds of classes for kink, leather, fetish, and general sex education to for-profit and not-for-profit shops, events, and organizations around the world. Sarah is also a writer and the Sex Education section editor for SexIs Magazine, as well as the Contributing Editor of Tristan Taormino’s newsletter, The Double T. She has been honored as a nominee for the Pantheon of Leather’s Woman of the Year award for 2009, is the 1st Runner Up for International Ms Leather 2009, and is a past nominee for the Vaughan Keith National Educator award from Black Rose.

SwitchMe is a co-gendered, bisexual, polyamorous switch. I find deep pleasure in helping others open up and discover the sheer joy and bliss of a free and uninhibited sexuality. I've been presenting and teaching for over 10 years on a variety of subjects, including body image, touch, deviancy, anthropology and computing. I'm currently working on an advanced degree, conducting fieldwork in the Caribbean, and have several publications. My workshops tend to focus on the body and self-image and the many ways to let go of our inhibitions and simply enjoy sex and sexuality.

Zebrianna has a passion for all of the sharp & pointies: needles, scalples/cuttings, knives, sutures, skin-staples... You can feel the energy from her as she plays or teaches and she's known for creating beautiful artwork with needles, staples and finger painting in blood! She has become Slutress'es partner-in-crime, and often they help educate the community in all forms of Blood Play together.
