Traceplay: Cutting and blood lining
On the edge of sensation and decoration, we'll demonstrate techniques for creating skin designs using sterile scalpels and inexpensive, inkless tattoo machines. Art ability is optional (we sure don't have any); we'll demonstrate applying and tracing stencils chosen to maximize your design's aesthetic outcomes! Flow-y and attention-centric, this type of play is perfect for those who like focused sensation, lasting mementos, and art with a red base color. While we teach – and preach! – that any break in the skin should be assumed to scar, the class focus is play (as opposed to body modification), with techniques and aftercare to maximize chances for creating marks that leave traces for months rather than years. The instructor is decidedly not a tattoo artist and approaches this topic from a perspective of reinventing the use of existing tools for kink, with a focus on RACK and harm reduction. This is an edge play topic.
Pre-reqs: Attendees should have an understanding of negotiation and risk mitigation for play that breaks the skin, including bodily fluid containment, maintaining a clean zone, detailed health negotiation, and so on.
