Double Trouble Suspension Puzzle
Join Parker & Juniper to learn our favorite rope game: double trouble suspension puzzle! This structured partner rope game can involve full or partial suspension for those who have already learned to suspend, but participants who don't suspend can play a ground-based version of the game. The rules of the game are simple, but the possibilities are many. Partners take turns tying (or untying) one section of rope at a time onto any body parts on themselves or their partner. Parker & Juniper will explain in more detail in the class and provide a demonstration of the game. The results are often experimental ties and unexpected combinations, often leading to organized chaos, or maybe just chaos, and usually silliness and laughter. Participants can collaborate or engage in some friendly competition (or both!) to assist or foil one anothers' plans. In-game communication and body awareness are important skills for this activity. What sort of ropey puzzles will you and your partner(s) create, and how will you resolve them? All participants (including people being tied) need to know how to tie a non-collapsing single column tie (such as a Somerville bowline). All participants, but especially people being tied, should have body awareness and be able to communicate their needs and limitations to their tying partner. Bring: full rope kit and suspension gear (or just rope if you are not suspending)
