TheDude and BetwixtBlushes

TheDude and BetwixtBlushes are a rope couple based out of Denver. They both host the Denver Rope Bight events and have helped develop the curriculum based education at Studio Friction. They gravitate towards the silly sadomasochistic side of rope and also enjoy dynamic movements and transitions. You also may have seen them presenting at previous Dark Odyssey and other national events. While teaching they really try to demonstrate the “why” behind their approach.

Fuck Aesthetics (Rope 101)

Enjoy rope without knowing an exhaustive list of patterns or even a single column. We will cover basic safety, consent, and some rope handling techniques that you can use right away. These building blocks will also be useful as you continue to explore rope. Bring 3-4 bundles of 25-30 ft rope.

Leafless Harness (201)

An arms free chest harness that can be front, side, and back loaded for suspension. Be ready for some minimal weaving, but even if decorative rope isn’t your style, it increases the sustainability in the air. Recommendations for load line attachments, and a tengu variant will be included. Bring 3 or 4 25-30 ft bundles of rope.
