Bondage for Connection and Flow
Open to all levels of experience: Expectations are first communicated verbally, verbal communication becomes implicit, implicit communication becomes habits, habits become norms and norms become ways to communicate without talking. The purpose of this workshop is to discuss concrete approaches to build connection and experience flow. The class will apply flow motivation theory to explain the process. Although the class is based on an academic concept the lecture will last 10-15 minutes and the rest of the class will be hands-on learning. The activities can be completed with or without rope. If you bring rope you will need 1-2 hanks of role between 22-25 feet or 7 - 8 meters. The diameter should be 1/4 to 3/8 inches or 4-6 mm. Tying with a partner is idea, but it isn't necessary,
Ganji Garame: The Art of Messy Rope
Beginning/Intermediate: should have a basic understanding of tension, frictions and knots. Loosely termed as a rope mummification, the ganji garame tie will require you “throw” rope on your willing participant. Approaches such as connection and energetic tying will also be included in this approach. The final product will be an asymmetric body tie that should be aesthetically pleasing and a bottom that should have engaged in an equally pleasing experience. (Intermediate, hands on). Needs six to eight 8 m rope (5-6mm in diameter).
Partial Suspensions for Love, Hate, Sex and Pain
Intermediate, should know how to tie an arms free chest harness or a takatekote and should be familiar with tying load bearing lines. This class will explore the versatility of elevated and low (on the floor) partial suspensions and how to play with them in a variety of ways. They can be used for erotic, sadistic, sexy play. Four to six ropes at approximately 8 meters (25-30 ft.) with a diameter of 5-6 mm (1/4-5/16 inches); three carabiners or a suspension ring, safety shears/rope cutter and a blanket, sheet or a mat if you have them.
Sexy and Not-so-sexy Torture Ties
Intermediate level, should know how to tie a single column tie and have a basic understanding of knots and frictions. Semenawa or torture rope can be a journey or an ordeal that includes erotic and sexy imagery to something more intense, and down right nasty. The class will examine both physical, and psychological components behind the torture ties. Bring three to five ropes at approximately 8 meters (25-30 ft.) with a diameter of 5-6 mm (1/4-5/16 inches).
